Well I thought it best to end the year on a high note. And as we count down the hours until 2017 (less for me than most of you) I thought I would present to you the final ship of the year: Barbaroja - red beard! A light pirate galley that is a curse upon shipping along the Oronegrean coast. This one is an odd vessel based off ancient designs if those designs had been picked up on by pirates in the golden age of piracy. From her armour plated bow to her two rudder oars this is not something you want to face when the wind is low. But alas I could have made so many more ships I could have had boats coming out of my ears if I had really worked hard. I would forever have been known as Gowan the mini-shipwright! But this will have to be it for 2016
As usual there are a few more pictures on my blog. But other than that, happy New Year!
So Gowan what have you got planned? I hear you ask. A Junk, a fluyt, a cool little gunboat (take a look at this one!) and maybe, if I am truly made enough, a Frigate! A frigate to crown all my other ship building achievement. Where would I put such a ship? I have no clue it will probably be close to three quarters of a metre long! But it would well be worth it.
