Italeri Native Warriors

Posted by Salaberry on 01 Jan 2017, 20:17

Happy New Year everyone!

Here is the latest offering: Italeri Native Warriors, painted as Mohawks from the Six-Nation confederacy for a dio on the War of 1812.
Very few modifications. A little greenstuff here, a little cardboard there, and a weapon swap.
A pleasure to paint and to modify, as they are very well sculpted.
Heavier modifications will be performed on the next batch.

I agree with Dali! Wonderfull painted native warriors!

Critic? Well maybe a small one! The figure painted in black and red looks like a jester! Not one I would like to meet, but he looks like one! :-D

Very good Salaberry!
I like the very first figure most. Because I see an ear ring and the tattoo at the arms is very well done with a brush. And he get not too much of that. If I want tattoo to my figure I use always small water slide decals.
And the blue red with the bloody knife look like a jester to me too.
Finally fantastic idea how do you color all these figures in war paint. None of them look unrealistic to me.

I like them as well. The red and black looks a little strange to me but maybe because I did not like that pose. Do not know why exactly. But your painting is really fine.

Maybe it's the moccasins: all they're missing is the pointy tip!
More seriously, I have this kind of half/half makeup on Amerindian reenactors.
Thanks for the comments. :yeah:

Hi Ezzys,

There are over 6 pages of tutorials on Benno's: I'm sure there is one in there about "pinning" figurines but I can tell you it can be done: with plastic and resin figurines, it's relatively easy if you have at least one "good" (sufficiently big enough) hoof.

The operation becomes an entirely new challenge with metal horses, that said...

Thanks for the comment.

New advancements, small modifications (headswaps, collars, some feathers, etc.):

This one is 80% done: tattoos, feathers, war paints and weapon decoration to follow...
