Ancient manual crane

Posted by Phersu on 02 Jan 2017, 13:39

I just finished the first prototype of an ancien manual crane... something that probably may fit well also in middle-ages sceneries.

This time I wisely started from something relatively easy (not like I did for the buildings with the ancient temple) but I'm already making another bigger construction machine (surprise! :winky: )... and some other works that kept me busy in the last weeks are almost finished too, more news coming soon! ;-)

I do not know myself in the time period so well, but I find the manual crane very very realistic. Many details! Nice painting! :yeah:
Also the colors and the design of the floor is very natural. Great!!!!

Looks great! I think you can never have too many acccessories for your figures!
If this had been available already in 2010, when I did my Colonia Ulpia Traiana harbor diorama, I surely would have bought this instead of having to do my own scratch built construction.

Yes, it is something definitely useful that can be used in many sceneries and different periods!
And despite is not something particularly difficult to do scratchbuilt, apart from some smaller parts perhaps... however even if so simple, it take time to make an accurate model and eventually, especially if we need more than one, perhaps for someone could be more convenient to get a crane already done just to be assembled!
That's why I spent some more time making the molds to cast resin copies. ;-)

Well, I thought to do it... but there is already a very good similar model produced from Green Line available:

So I thought to make something different, another construction machine, much more complex than a crane... in fact is taking longer than I though to be done. :sweatdrop:
But in the next days the prototype will be ready, then I'll post some images... surprise! :winky:
anyone want to try to what sort of machinery? ;-)

That's right! :yeah:
Not actually floating, just the main pile driver machine structure.
That then can be placed on a simple floating raft, or between two boats... but also on terrain to ram the poles to build a palisade or something else. ;-)
