Operations Konrad I-III from Warsaw

Posted by sowabud on 06 Mar 2016, 08:30

I have been preparing for a few months my own system for WWII wargaming, concerning Operation Konrad - german attempts to break the siege of Budapest. Therefore, I need a lot of winter scenery and figures in winter uniforms. I have just finished a battalion of german grenadiers - 9 platoons of 4 figures each and a assault platoon equipped with Sturmgewehr 44. I need to paint heavy weapons and most of the commands.

I painted 16 figures of Soviet commanders. They come from different sets of Pegasus. These are hard plastic fugures. The quality is very high, there is only very little flash. But they are fairly flat and difficult to shade. They form the core of my Soviet HQ.

Pipers: Yes. I like to write and arrange my own games. But It is unfortunately only in Polish, now. I invite you to follow my blog, where you will find some battle reports from test battles, more to come.

The game is on the platoon level, just between Battle Group and Rapid Fire, where one base is one platoon of infantry, cavalry or anything else. 1 figure represents about 5 soldiers, so it is with the models of vehicles.

Next non combatant unit (model) - Pegasus Studebakers. I like them very much, although I have forgotten to paint the cab inside. Actually you almost can not see it, but on pics - yes.
