Historie - The unionists in "... until the last shot!" - ACW

Posted by Hellboy on 19 Feb 2017, 15:54

New diorama pictures …

„... until the last shot!“

The flanks are broken. Their own guns were overrun. The enemy is overpowering. A handful of infantrymen holding a small hill .... to the last shot!

Have fun. :-D

In my eyes, this is a wonderful, pretty and very successful stylistic inconsistency. My respect!

Yes Peter, the topic is something completely different than I do otherwise. And it was a lot of fun for me! That's the nice thing about our hobby. It is incredibly diverse. There are still sooooooo many themes and epochs. There is no end in sight!

The color of the skin was not changed by the photos. I mix the color myself from 4 different oil colors. Sometimes a little too much red creeps in. Could be the case here. Next time I need to be more careful.

Wiking, thank you very much for your very kind words. The dusting makes more and more fun. Pigments are increasingly used. Great products !!!! :yeah:

Here's nice tutorial how to mix fleshtones with oil paints. I hope it helps.

Kekso, thanks for the video link. :yeah: Very interesting! And completely different from what I've read and then tried.

I work with the colors 'Titanium white' (Norma 114), 'cadmium red tone' (Mussini 342), 'natural burnt sienna' (Mussini 661) and 'Neaples yellow light' (Mussini 231) from manufacturer Schmincke. Has always worked well so far. But why not try something new !!!!

But I have a bad news for you. On the day when I painted the skin parts of these two figures, I painted the faces and hands of about 20 more figures :( we will see this color the next time even more often. Eyes to and through .... ;-)
