Frankenhausen 1525 1/72

Posted by Traveller1865 on 07 Mar 2017, 18:43

My second diorama, this time about the famous Frankenhausen battle during the Peasants' War in the 1520's, preacher Thomas Müntzer led a poorly armed band of peasants against the German Princes and their mercenaries. The short battle ended with a crushing defeat, with some 6,000 peasants being killed. Müntzer was caught and executed marking the end of the rebellion which caused some 100,000 peasant deaths.

This diorama featured the typical sets depicting the period, Strelets, Zvezda, Red Box etc, I probably won't use poor figures in the future...

Didn't know American Horse was a casualty in this battle, but there he is! ;-) Nice scene with a lot of figures from different makers! Couldn't see Robin Hood, but saw enough of his Merry Men to suspect he is somewhere close!

Lots of movement in this one. Clever use of the figures really brings it to life. The shots of the line of guys charging their pike s look fabulous and so do the close up shots of the melee..

This looks good, but I am sure it is even better when you look diorama in real life.
@Kekso- For some reason many Hollywood movies are filmed in the Balkans.
