these figures are very nice and beautifully painted. The idea to combine them with a painting is also very good. I think you should explore more that way - this is an encouragement
Myself, I ask often the question how to group them. The poses are all nice, but too separated and too little interaction. For medieval and Roma epoch we have now enough from Valdemar/Alex and Streletz to make real dioramas. For Tudor this is just a beginning although I think you can add mediaval figures and maybe now Redbox will expand. Just thinking
