Zombies

At 15 days from Saumur model show Contest (France !), a decision had to be taken.
Finally, I would not put my Reachstaker RT240 on the diorama, I would not have time to finish it and the job on it does not deserve a sloppy finish by a tight timing. The model even deserves a single vehicle presentation. To drown him in a big decoration would not pay homage to him.

I think however keep the container on the diorama.

So I used my B plan with a new 4x4 (Matchbox !!!!) added and a little more "survivors" in order to give a little tidy battle.

The following:

The dumpsters are finished :

And survivors taken from AlexMiniatures figures references. Some are modified, one is not paint for the moment.

Waiting for more figures, hope they come asap !!

Such a nice figures you are using.
With your paint and especially your use of hard shadows, the proportions and the foldings in the clothing of these people look brilliant.

And great dumpsters you made.

When I saw the photos of the container handle I thought the same as you do now, "too good to be just scenery in a big diorama", think you've done well not to include it, it deserves a display for himself, although to be honest, almost too what you are doing for that diorama deserves a display of its own.
The f150 raptor from matchbox was a great idea, maisto have a good one too, but have not interior and even when is in the propper width is a little short in length. may be a little of dust with the airbrush In the lower parts could improve it a little more.
Check n the cargo box, the green box and the jerry cans could be Ok in one of my dioramas, but for the quality of yours may deserve some touch-ups.
The dumpster are really impressive!!
The figures are getting perfect.
Think it is really a contest work,
You still have time, take it easy, I'm sure it will make waves in Saumur or any contest,
Is the kind of work to publish in a magazine specialized in modeling as well.

Thanks Carlos.

The pick up is not made by Matchbox but by Majorette and done for 1/72 scale.

The interior is not so badly detailed as that and anyway, it is almost invisible. With a little dust on the windows, it will be perfectly illusion. The only rough details are the rims and the hitch.
The cargo box has been slightly modified since the last pictures. (Last pictures where the painting was not finished).

Are they coming to the rescue or are they escaping the city? Great to see them painted! Think the only modern Alex-figures I've seen painted here! Ah, sorry, but I played in a band once and we didn't get to play the nice places. One time we got to the pub we should be playing we were stopped by the owner, the police wanted us to wait an hour before they could say it was safe for us to play. It was packed with guys from a prison gang (only murderers were welcome in that gang) and police (not the locals, national!). We played and one guy from gang came to the stage and asked us to play Born To Be Wild. Our guitar-player and I (who played bass at that time) looked at each other, we hadn't rehearsed it, but we knew that we could maybe make a version, we two and our drummer. But our singer couldn't! And making a not-perfect version for a bunch of murderers wasn't tempting at all. So the guitar-player came up with the brilliant idea that you must have a Hammond B3 organ to make it justice. The guy looked at us for a while and then came up with a smile and we was very happy with that explenation, off course we must have a Hammond B3 to make it justice, and we didn't. It was pretty nervous, but it came out okay. :-D

The waste bins look really messy, and the latest figures look really cool.
Shadows come in for free during photo shoots so always best to use them. :-D
Coming or going, and what the bikers are up to, is a mystery only the author knows. ;-)

Thanks for that great story Gunnar,
some memories are well worth the time spent in passing them on. BB

It is a real nice work of Alex and well paint of you (red beard !). As the lamp and some small bits added to the hot black oven.
Most of all I like that you get the idea to use it.
This team integrate in pose and clothing to the whole scene very well.
And the big knife at the side of the girls butt. Well imaginable.
:yeah:

So much young flesh! An eye catcher!
... I, ah, ... I am referring to the Zombies view !

Thanks all for all your comments. This is my last pictures, more than 50 détails photos.

No medal at Saumur contest. No matter, probably not enough steel and too many decaying chair. The Saumur contest is mainly dedicated to the armored vehicules.
In any case I am very happy to have realized this. Now place to others projects.
