Those Odemars Bosnians are really bad figures...but you have made them look pretty darn good with some skillful painting, shading, highlighting, and the like.

Very well done. And very exciting to see figures not often painted up!

As Bluefalchion already mentioned you have done a good paint job by these figure quality. :-D

Are the headgear really red?
I remember a set of dragon (1/35) with the same troops. They wear the same headgear and it was in the color like her uniform.

@Wiking,

Yes also red. You can find some colourplates with this colour, but also with the same colour like the uniform.

Yes you are right.
Thanks for the info. For a Dio it is a colorful addition.
Several years ago I check for armored vehicle (for a possible Dio) and so for history of this Handschar Divison.
I came across reports, b/w pic and as already wrote the Dragon set.
The odd part is now I check especial for the above mentioned red headgear. It take me just a few minutes and your statement was underlined with a color photo. The one you show us. As only one example.

So the conclusion is:
If you don`t know if something exist you do not search for it.

Tom71--

Without researching the question myself, I believe you are likely correct that the red fezz was worn mostly out of action or for inspection and on parade. Having a bright red object on a soldier's head during combat would carry with it some obvious drawbacks for the style of fighting done during that era.

But the red does pop out on your figures, so it is great for figure painting!

The fez was actually grey (typically german uniform grey) in colour. The Italian led Albanian troops used white/vanilla colored fezes and I believe some Bosnian troops used a red fez
