For a hot summer day, a winter Dio. :-D

There is a discussion if the defender of Posen gets Stug or not.
I decide yes. The Stug Ausf. C photographed (b/w pic in the Internet) with the Saukopfblende.

Stug: Trumpeter
Truck: First to fight
PaK: (Or what left over) UM
Figures: Revell, MiG, Pegasus, Cäsar, Orion, Zvezda, Tanks vs Panzer, Black Army Models, Juweela.

As usual, there is a lot going on in this dio. Very nice work! Why has the casualty helper on the bridge have a bright uniform in almost French blue?

Thank you for the nice words.

He is from the Flak (Anti Aircraft).
The different uniforms ( tanker in camouflage, winter camouflage, soldier in winter camouflage, and grey, as the Flak soldier) indicate the confusing situation. Everyone get from somewhere the order to reach a new assembly point.
For the counterattack the commander in the Stug ask the forthcoming surviving crew how close and strong the Ivan is.

I'm curious about the burning bogies rolling off - what, a Panzer IV? - in the tunnel.
Great diorama, love the motley mix of German camouflage uniforms, really nice signage, winter effects, all the things we've come to expect from your dioramas.
And I'm always amazed at the frequency with which new ones arrive!!

This one I build last year.
Be in mind that I show you a lot of Dio since my serious modelling from 1998 onward.
So the impression is high that I modeling the whole day and night.
But slowly I am running out of presentable Dio.

Well observed Sir !
Sturmgeschütz- Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 500 ( Assault gun- spare and training unit 500) get Stug III as Stug IV (parts that we see flying in the tunnel) and a few tank IV. One Panther and one Tiger.

There's only one thing for it, Wiking. You are going to have to create some more dios. Or, you could show us some photos of the un-presentable dios.

 :-) :yeah:

I am a bit confused about the sign "En gros-Lager". That sounds like dutch-but the scenery plays in Posen.

Thank you all to invest the time for a commend you have given.

En-gros maybe sound dutch too. I can´t speak dutch.
This "En gros" indicate a survival of the time that the French language was "En gros" in the German language. Two example that my father told me that was common in his youth. It was the (F) trottoir, (GB) pavement, or the (F) billet, (GB) ticket. Similar the Anglicisms in the German language today.

A back yard battle.
Often the important key spots are build up into strong points. Only to take with mass losses. And the Russian are searching for the Germans weak point.

Thank you for your response MixvsMinimax.

Again a great and imaginative scene, Wiking!

Still I can not see from the pictures what is happening exactly at the far side of the diorama. I see parts of a gun and a Stug III flying around. What's going on there? But that is the reality of war, isn't it? Chaos rules and no one knows exactly what is going on.

"En gros-Lager" is not Dutch. It is a mixture of French (En gros) and German (Lager) and it means "wholesale business".

Knew the explosion on the bottom level is an unfortunate AT gun crew. Cotton cloud and pieces flying are neat effects. Finally spotted the Panzernest(1-2 man MG bunker) on the top level, left side. Very cool item. Is it scratchbuilt or what?
Much respect and admiration for your mad modeling skills. Bill

You know, I thought it should mean "Ein großes Lager" (a big warehouse). I wasn't thinking about en-gros/en-detail. Thats why "een gros lager" sounds quite "orange" to me. *gggg*
