My first time painting Caesar figures - they've impressed me a lot.

I've some other WWI figures that I'm hoping to tackle soon. It's an irony that I love to paint colourful uniforms but then spend all my effort making sure that those colours aren't too vibrant and appear more muted.
When I look at those heads wearing red kepis in the firing line of the men lying prone, it makes me realise just how vulnerable these lovely French uniforms made the men on a 1914 battlefield. Those kepis are like bullseyes on a dartboard!
