Stuart VI. 2nd Irish Guards, in Normandie

Posted by MABO on 16 Sep 2018, 09:09

Stuart VI. Reconnaissance Troop, 2nd Irish Guards, Guards Armoured Division.

Another Plastic Soldier Company set. Decals from Peddinghaus. It was a pleasure to build. And during my work on the AFV this summer, I was happy to own this book, because it seems to be a source for the decal production. I found nearly every vehicle there.

I see your olive green can is still not empty.
One more QB kit.
Look good with the background.
The advantage is that you get figures and the option for some open hatches.
That is not a standard of other QB manufacturer.

In the start of QB kits from several makers I was not so enthusiastic about it.
In the Italeri IS 2 kit you buy some unused huge QB parts too. For example.
But change my mind. Better people do and build, paint a QB kit as to buy simply a diecast one.
And for other people, with a few parts to a good result.
I remember the "long time" to build my Matchbox Stuart in my youth. To play with it ! :-D

And Plastic Soldier is still the only one who offer an A9 cruiser (QB) in plastic !

Very nice indeed.

I remember reading about late war British tank crews being assigned to these vehicles with horror due to their then effective obsolescence.

Lovely pictures as always.

Best wishes,

Chris
