ACW Infantry and Command

Posted by kaktus on 07 Nov 2018, 13:59

HaT's prototypes of two sets ACW Infantry and Command painted by me. My first painting adventure with ACW (thank you HaT). I know I did some historical mistakes (the shoulder insignias on the Confederate officer is unfortunate, but it can be easy trimmed off) but I had to keep the original style of figures . Some bayonets were broken , so I fixed it. I think it will be the best seller.

I like the basing with the flowers and the way the flags are done.

Terrific painting. I think these look really, really good; the ACW buffs must be drooling.

Andyes, the flags and bases look really good too.

Never understood why Hat waited so long for American subjects, but now they have started and they look very nice. Or it could be your painting of them that makes them look so nice! Anyhow, like it a lot!!! Ah, yes! They made Zouaves very early!

Hello kaktus,

very good job on painting these. Hat is finally bringing out their ACW range. Personally, I prefer the uglies and less perfectioned Streletz figures. You should do the figures of both companies and see how the scultping influences your painting. Would be a very inspiring comparison.
Anyway, I like your painting of these figures

"kaktus" - do you know the old French song by leo Ferre "le kaktus"?
Its refrain:
"Everywhere there are those cactus
they have thorns and it hurts to sit on them
aie aie aie
uiuihui
aie aie aie"

Greetings
Michael
