Posted by PhilC on 28 Dec 2018, 10:40

And of my 2018 objectives is complete too (ok, it's just in my head) :-D

Image

On this picture, you can see the figures necessary for:
8x4Wb: the warband main part of the army
2x2Ps: the skirmishing archers
1x2LH: the Light Horse
1x3Cv: the Medium Cavalry

This is a loose interpretation of the DBA list, but I like it like that

The LH, from the Strelets set "Batavian auxiliaries in Roman service":

The Cv, from Hät "Gothic Cavalry":

Yes, nice painted figures.

And as PhilC correctly do, there was snow in Germany at that time.
But the naked man in the cold is really hard stuff !

As in France, it happens that we have snow in winter from time to time, but not every year.

Regarding the naked man, I agree that it was probably unlikeky to see Germanic warriors like him in ancient time, not only in winter: there is no evidence of naked Germanic warriors, contrary to Celtic warriors mentionned in some texts - as already discussed here: http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21325&p=232952#p232952

They look wonderful. I like the colors, not too bright, not too dull and brownish.

.. really an impressive and very vivid warband.... where did you get the model-plates for their shields?
