95th Rifles (and magnetic skirmisher basing)

Posted by Bill Slavin on 29 Dec 2018, 18:03

Here are the 95th Rifles, my newest addition to Wellington's Peninsular War army. For all the gamers on the forum I have included some shots of a basing system I came up with for skirmishers using dollar store flexible magnets. I'm sure others have already done this, but it does save a whole lot of duplicate painting!!
The figures are Italeri. There's a bit more on my blog here: https://tinywarsplayedindoors.blogspot.com/2018/12/95th-rifles-and-magnetic-skirmisher.html

I like the white piping. I'm not even sure I'm going to attempt that on mine. Love the magnetic basing idea as well. The bases go together seamlessly.

Marvelous painting, and good bases too. These minis are really dynamic! I won't buy this set even if I appreciate it, because I already have the Revell one.

Very nice painting Bill.

Personally I love these figures but unfortunately they are Giants and do not fit in easily with 20 mm.

However, as skirmishers they are not as obviously oversize and are therefore useful.

Best wishes,

Chris

Thanks, all.

Chris, you are right, they are a bit over size, but as I'm gaming rather than model or diorama making I tolerate a bit of discrepancy. They are the same size as the Italeri British line which fit fairly well with the HaT line and match my burly Hagen Portuguese so all my Brits are robust in comparison with my diminutive French!
