1806 Prussian Musketeers

This first set in 'Advance' look not too bad. The eagle eyed will spot that I intentionally didn't clean off much of the mould lines. These are obvious on the first two photos when the image is blown up but in reality it doesn't really show , at least not with my eyesight.

If anyone from the two rear ranks suddenly burst into "I was born under a wand'ring star " It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Really nice. I love the kit on these Prussians - they must have been fun to paint.

The kit on all the sets are really the best bits of the figures. Great fun to paint, good to look at, impossible to see when they're in the wall display cases :eh:

With some of the marchers in WIP we're back to having an axe too :-)

Terrific looking advancing figures, I really like the ones in the rear ranks. Usually I'm not keen on the front on to the mould figures but these look great. Great painting helps of course.

The rear ranks have a different gait to many others in these four sets of 1806 Prussians. The marching Musketeers I have in the painting tray at present also have a better gait. I do think these sets are better than the impression one gets from reviews and comments. Also, where else does one get 1806 Prussians in numbers? ;-)
The period doesn't seem that popular, perhaps because they were soundly defeated but so was everyone else who came up against Davout. :P

For some strange reason I am quite fond of soldiers dressed in blue and yellow

The firing line.

This will be the last of the musketeers for now as I have mentioned in the WIP for these.
