is the only place not costing hundreds of UK pounds Stirling to obtain them. Epix Haven went out of business late 2018 so there will be no more of their 3 D Patterned stuff on production lines.
As far as I reckon upon it, Think about it. Lots of Towers, Gatehouse Towers, Stone Steps,Houses and Castle Walls all new stock were donated to this charity to help raise funds for research. A good thing for my money to help support.

Soon these objects will be as rare as hens teeth. BB

And duly jotted down.



At the offset of moulding the Chapel, i forgot to mention that the mould I made was in five seperate parts that with guidance channels cut into them made it possible to push them together like a jig.



Looking again at the bottom roof section I was able to correct it by trimming off a strip of tiles that were flash upon one of the side wall. This strip caused the disrupted tile line. A sort of overlapping thing caused when I put everything together.

Odd job self teaching methods can get tricky at times and where 5 part moulds are concerned I am a wee bit out of my comfit zone without access to an engineering workshop,but not afraid to venture there within this journal.



Here I am about to place this piece on.



Once assembled to form the moulding box i used very long needle like pins pushed right in at differing angles and this fixes the parts firmly into place. This is enough to make it watertight, so no yucky leaks. Primitive Technology at a bright pin push does certainly enable setting up and taking apart that much easier.

The detail should look the business after dipping. However for now in way of fun PC Colour applied.
The main towers will need raising another level too, then it will be a practicality to raise walls,gatehouse and battlements.

ITALERI 1/72 French Infantry on the march. These are the famous chinless toy soldiers, but in spite of that they are darn good figures. They hit the high street way back in 2005 at a time when there was not much else on offer.



I guess these were mixing gunpowder when it sparked and Poof! Went off leaving them all looking rather like the old BBC`s Black & White Minstrels.

The 28mm Chapel is just a square with a lift off slopping pan-tile roof added on top.
I figured it needed lifting. My Motto,` Up is free space so why not fill it ? ' So up it went

He`s not to happy being up there in all weathers, and 60 odd foot towers have an awful chilly updraft to them. Cold enough to chill the average sized King Penguin to solid ice in seconds.

As for this tower it was designed with 28mm war gamming in mind but the dimensions are some what squeezed in.



Asterix Range Romans painted years ago. A bit to chunky for the tower.

The camera creates illusion at this angled shot.



However there is no corner bracket to link wall to tower. If I make moulds at a future date I can easily rectify this slight problem.

WARNING

TWO TOP FLOORS OF GATEHOUSE TOWER WOBBLES FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER. THIS TILT CREATES A GAP OF 5mm ON THE TWO TOP FLOORS. DUE TO THIS TILT I COULD NOT INSTALL THE SPIRAL STEPS. THIS GAP IS EQUAL TO A BRICK SIZE SO IS QUITE SUBSTANTIAL. I THEREFORE CANNOT RECCOMMEND IT.

This is a serious flaw in the rubber mould used during the casting up process in China.
If these things are not set level therefore they are bowed and it leads to problems elsewhere.



The camera can create illusion very true, but can also show faults. I believe everyone viewing this picture above will get my point raised in order to help others decide.

Large door and small oblong window buttered up thickly with Plaster of Paris ,using my butter knife.



Then while the mixture was still wet both were turned over so they stood on end.



Both were trimmed around the edges and the little oblong window had its middle cut out forming a new arrow slit for dressing up those towers that are rather blank canvases. I need to make over a hundred.

The entire kits in this range have now been purchased. So lots more fun to come.

From Clearance Stock, loads of conversions made possible with these Tabletop Workshop click together buildings. Standing as they all do upon one footprint of 28mm size means walls and roofs can be swopped over. For instance two stone supporting end walls, with the front and back of timber frame construction with rendered up walls.Rooftops of thick thatch,pan-tile or flat tile will lend a contrasting feature when mixed up in this way too.

I will produce and cast up my own chimneys later as there is a total absence of them here.

So these will wing their way via the mail. I am most happy and active busy with so much fantasy stuff to do. Another update soon. BB
