The Revell Zombie

Posted by FredG on 20 Feb 2019, 20:35

It would appear that some members of this forum are not familiar with this fellow. That's quite surprising o me as he's had a lot of exposure in my WIP posts.

However

He came from humble beginings as part of a Revell set of British Foot Artillery (2577). I used some of the figures in a small diorama but this chap was so badly cast that I was going to humanely dispose of him. He was rescued by MrsG who insisted that he be painted up. I did as told ( I know when to after 50+ years of married bliss) and he was christened Zombie (pronounced zOmmmbieeee in a deep voice). Zombie resided in the painting tray for a considerable time, chatting to the other paintees and gambolling with the horses and camels. I then received a further request / order to give him a decent base and as I'd found a couple oif the worst ever cast lambs in a drawer, provided him with the companionship of two zombie lambs. (Honest, they're supposed to be soay sheep lambs)

I'm sure there will be further additions as suitable pieces become available

Those are absolutely the worst looking lambs I ever saw. But they do make good mutant zombie lambs. Perhaps it's just the camera angle but I think the one the one on the right might make a decent bull terrier.

Seeing your Zombie in various posts gave me an idea for something silly I could do with that rather strange figure. I will apologise in advance for the plagiarism.

Isn't that how they become zombies in the first place? They catch a pandemic plagiarism :eh: :P

Oh my! Where did you dig up those lambs?!?!?!? Oh, sorry! As zombies they dug up themselves. I agree with the bullterrier reference. Had no trouble recognising your zombie when you mentioned him. And he is much better off here!

By popular demand and to prove it's not the camera angle that's making the lambs look so bad.
