The Norman war machine kicks into action, the Norman light infantry make way for the Norman cavalry who then puts pressure onto the Saxon shield wall, the Norman infantry quickly form their own shield wall with another forming behind them ready to follow them into combat.

That is a mighty impressive HUGE battlefield a fabulous sight, but the close up shots are great too.

Great painting of the figures, nice work on the shields. And very nice figure posing to give a real feel of the action. The buildings look good too.

Great post. I love this kind of great massive displays, 1/72 figs fit in my opinion perfectly for such projects.
I could identify here:
-Revell
-several Strelets
-Zvezda vikings
-what I suposse to be several metal Tumbling Dice sets

Well spotted my friend, there are a lot of conversions mixed in such as Linear-A German Warriors Set 1, Hat Saxons, Airfix Ancient Britons, Hat Franks, Hat Visigoths, Hat Gothic Cavalry, El Cid Spanish Infantry, El Cid Spanish Command, Zvezda Medieval Peasant Army, Revell Celts and I'm sure there are others in there as well. The metal figures are mostly Tumbling Dice with again a few others mixed in. Glad you like them.

The Norman cavalry reforms in the rear, the first wave of Norman foot advance to contact with the Saxons. More Saxon Fryd are arriving onto the field.

A Tip. Not an order.
Dress makers pins make handy arrows for small scales. Scattered around stuck here and there in the ground they do and can certainly add that extra little bit of interest. Just remember to put the prickly little blighters back into their container after use.

Upon such a view as this ,this battle field feature would have taken countless hours of day weeks and years. Congratulations on this massive display. Brilliant Work. BB

Amazing, the Diorama is alive and the troops actually maneuver and fight!
Seems to be hours of work and fun!

I also realized the other used Brands and sets: Hat and so on!!!

Even if figures weren't painted it would be impressive in their number.

The Saxons manage to beat off the Norman foot. They are able to extricate themselves from the bloody line of dead bodies and reform two all but smaller shield walls after abandoning their position on the right wing.
