Hi...!

Here it comes the British Light Infantry...

I do not understand how only half set (4 figures) has been devoted to this subject so far while some others had hundreds of figures (and numbers still growing...), but, I know, is a matter of popularity and sales...

For people who do not mind repeating figures on their deployments, maybe not a big deal... but, normally, I do not begin a subject until there is a minimum of 15/16 figures on different poses to fill my bases with it.

I found a solution using this Strelets set, http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=2107 and I did make AWI both sides Light Infantry out of them viewtopic.phpf=2&t=18938&p=204406&hilit=AWI+despertaferro#p204406 , just swapping heads and hats.

I know the result is an ugly mixing. But, lucky me, I'm not doing 28 mm. And the small size of this figures help to hide the differences once exposed on their shelve tray and mixed with hundreds of their period partners.

But here we are not for hiding anything and I want to show the crude differences so you can judge by yourselves...

I do have a question which is to do with a pose.
Why woul;d anyone start messing about waving a hatchet when he is already holding a bayonetted musket?
Just saying ( Oh how I hate that expression)

You have painted the figures very well. The mixture from different manufacturers would have worked better if the Strelets "muskets" had normal long and thin dimensions. Instead, they are roughly the size and shape of the machine guns carried by the Space Marines in the film Aliens.

Mel Gibson had a tomahawk so it must be right.

I don't think this is an ugly mix, if you point out the problems with your ring in figures I,ll see them but, otherwise your painting and presentation just show me a really splendid looking, dynamic group of light infantry with plenty of variety.

Also, I'm no expert on the AWI but I think your figures have a non regulation look that's very appropriate for that theatre. Very nice job.

It is a pity regarding the size of those Stretlets muskets otherwise this looks fantastic. There is a real ' feel' to the action depicted here.

I had not seen the original thread, so I would have missed out on those amazing figures if you had not added this new post! What an amazing job on those figures! They all look great (you've even managed to make the horrible Strelets figures look good), but the standout for me is the grenadiers-really great. Also love the conversions/swaps you've done! If you could add close ups of the Native Americans and Hessians that are in the pictures that would be wonderful!!!

These are two British Artillery bases for my AWI stuff.

Hi…

Some French reinforcements for the American side:
-Two bases of Fusiliers, Corps Royal de l’Infanterie de la Marine.
-One artillery base of Bombardiers de la Marine.
Both were present in North America from 1778 to 1783, but I couldn’t find any evidence of them fighting away from their ships, the Fusiliers acting like regular infantry or the Bombardiers manning land batteries.
-One artillery base, Royal-Artillerie.

I do not know if that also happens to you guys, but this has been a kind of cursed project for me. I thought it would be a great idea to represent these unusual units and, after searching for the right figures that could do the job with minimum changes, I started the task very enthusiastically. But soon I begun losing my interest on it: one day I found the figures too ugly, next day too inaccurate… (surprising, because normally I am quite tolerant about perfection and accuracy…) And so on… As a result, it has been laying on one side of my painting table for ages. Every time I picked them, after little progress, my attention turned again and again to some other stuff… Until now, that, sealed at home, I committed myself to finish some of my for-years-in-progress stuff. Which are quite a lot because I get very easily bored and constantly jump from one project to another…
Anyhow, here there are…
