Great blog entry. It looks to me like Strelets attempted to model what was in Pelissier's hand in the famous photograph, but Strelets failed to realize he was holding his unusually fluffy hat!

That's really interesting, I didn't link the two together at all. Certainly all that Strelets has modelled in the end is more a limp, shapeless object than any hat I can see!
