Be careful with that axe, Bors! Very nice! Even though I am a little (very little) skeptical that they looked like this back in the late 5th century. I wasn't there so I really don't know, just make my opinion on other people's opinions. Sorry, should think by myself!

TBH, I don´t like the romano "we missed the last Galley" Version. It may be historically accurate for a handfull of them (the lesser known ones) to go running about defending wall forts alongside Kiera knightley covered in blue marker pen but the round table would have been very small, more an occasional table than much else.
Most of the characters appear from the 12th Cent onwards, Gawain, Percival, Tristan, Galahad, even his arch enemy Mordred didn´t appear until some 200 years after Arthur. Arthur would have been Pretty short staffed, most importantly missing his main knight, lancelot, who didn´t appear until 1170...oh and Bors turns up in the 13th Cent

Yep. Some are creations of the writers of the various versions, some have a basis in post roman history, others not. The C-o-A´s are later additions, sort of "after the fact".
I thought I knew the stories quite well but reading up on the characters I´ve realised the legend is a bit more indepth and complicated than i thought.

Wonderful looking Arthurian Knights, colourful and exciting. And I think the legends themselves are a significant part of our history.

But someone has to ask the dumb C of A question; Was Sir Gawain from Wimbledon? I can see how Arthur might find a giant killer from the Crazy Gang quite useful.

Great looking figures! Reading Mary Stewart's Merlin-books (highly recommended) now. Well, re-read them so I pop into them from time to time.
