This is art. Just superb! The attention to detail here is sublime. You manage to set a mood and it's easy to imagine a conversation happening. very poetic piece. I love your taste in basing, it brings everything all together yet sets it apart as a scene. Top shelf work sir!
What can I add, everything has been said already ... What a beautiful scene!
We read Faust at school, too. Part I - where this scene belongs to - is great. Faust II, on the other hand is, well ... a typical sequel I would say, No comparison to the original.
Agree with the others, absolutley stunning work! As expected from you! Mephistopheles maybe won't be a big seller as a figure, but the other two can probably be pretty popular.
The painting, the modelling and composition have all come together to create a diabolically seductive scene. Wonderfully evocative!
Is the base petrified wood? It works perfectly. The tree is fabulous and the figures your usual excellent standard.
I liked Goethe's Faust but I wasn't in school when I read it. I think I had returned to school as an adult student when I read Marlowe's Faustus though.
What a wonderful, unusual topic...german heavy literature ... Fantastic and brilliant implementation in one model. Even if I didn't have to read the book at school, I know the story, but your interpretation is a masterpiece!
