It's been a long time since I came here and I come back you present my new mini-diorama. A Sd.Kfz 261 in Russia. Intérior is détailled.

Superb small modeled thing.

The gray one is improved with a huge amount of small bits outside !
It is so good detailed and improved that it is visible that the number plate is too thick for your building quality.
Inside is the problem to take serious pictures.
For that reason I paint my Sd. Kfz. 261 (build in 2005) in yellow and white inside. Open all doors. And than I added a figure inside .
It is a surprise that this vehicle survived till that late stage of the war. (According to the soldiers uniform) No withe wash, too !
The figure as the dog are sweets for the eyes too.
That garden fence need urgent a new paint. And blue curtains in the red area !

And you cut off one of your winning trophy to build this Dio on the trophy`s base ?

It is great. Don't get me wrong, but I like scenery and ground work even more than vehicle.
And I like the dog of course... I'm a dog person so as my wife... I was cat person and then I got married

Snow is made with a Tamiya product. First try and I like it.
The fence was made with plasticard and isba with skewer wood.

I'm agree with number plate but it's too late now.

My diorama is at the end of the winter of 1943. For me, the troops had these winter pants ? No ?

For the snow time the vehicle get a white camouflage. A dark grey vehicle in the white snow is the best contrast for the enemy to see it.

I do an mishmash.
As an example see in the Gallery:

The half truck is in sand yellow (with brown and green stripes) and the front section of the whole vehicle get a won out white wash.
The Flak is grey as your 261. And the front shield get some white too.


Finally you do a superb (nicer detailed outside as mine from 2005) Sd Kfz 261.
It depend always on the modellers taste who see the Dio each day in his vitrine.

I was thinking that this was set around the spring thaw 1942.

Panzer grey would still be the correct colour I believe.

The 261, or rather rear vehicles such as transmission vehicles for example, could also remain gray. Here is one of the photos that inspired me.

The pic prove you are right.

90% of the white chalk is gone. Or it is simply the dust of the last summer. Endless discussion of color on b/w pic are a lot in the dedicated forums.

But the vehicle is for sure in contrast to the snow.

In my opinion: this is art! A completely realistic scene. A masterly painted figure with an appealing pose. The vehicle is amazing! Perfectly painted and aged. The house, the wooden fence and the muddy floor look like real! A masterpiece from an artist !!!!
