Napoleonic Indian Sepoys into AWI_US Inf barefoot

Posted by Photoro Man on 27 Apr 2020, 14:17

Hi, a try to convert ´unnecassary Indian Sepoys` into US infantry, not so well equipped ...
no shoes. That part is stil absolutely lacking; All AWI US Units are clad marvellously .

Apart from the fact that the market offers very little in 1/72 for AWI ... .

Bigger pictures would be nice, to have the chance to say something.

Hi Photoro Man,

once the picture question solved I'ld like to give you my feedback on your first question.
Well, I also own these figures and painted them as Sepoys (I did Wellington's campaign and Sippu's campaigns) - VERY few Sepoys out there!
In my opinion, these figures do not meet today's standard of most other suppliers - quite stocky, faces not nice, proportions not so good, smaller items too large.
Having said that your figures clearly make the best out of them. It is a good idea and the guys do look the part. In that sense it is good that your picture resolution is not so high because it would not improve. Your figures have the good look at the distance - for me this is often what I'm looking for. Depends on taste and usage.
So keep up the good and creative work and show us more!
Greetings
Michael

Hi Michael,

totally agree with you that the Hagen ones are not the best when it comes to ´beauty´. But, unfortunately, there is no other set on the 1/72 market that is sporting musket-carrying units in shorts, is there?
And what hosting service should I use for better pictures? Thanks in advance

May be on the 1:72 market there are not, but on 1:100 market they are. East Indian Company Sepoys.

Interesting conversions and very nicely done; I think they have a very good eclectic look for armed citizens.

More AWI¡ Very good idea and realization. The figures you have used are not the best molded so more difficult your task. It´s true than I can not see the photos in high resolution..
I was thinking of doing the same conversions…

Hi Lobo,

thanks. Yeah, not the best figures, but the only ones available.
I will try to improve on the picture posting issue.
If you need heads for your own divisions, let me know ;-).
