Hittite and Mitanni warriors

Posted by TK on 26 Jun 2020, 17:20

Hi,

I painted a Hittite-Mitanni army. All figures are from Caeasar Miniatures. The figures are very nice. Easy to bend and glue their arms for better positions.

Very cool and colouristic army :) . I can't recognize that wonderful hittite king, did you sculpt it, or is maybe a metal figure?

Xantippos, this figure is also original from Caesar Miniatures. Some fortunate people could obtain it inside Set H024 (Ancient Egyptian Chariots), because some of these sets included as a bonus figure this character while others included an Assyrian King.

I was fortunate enough to get the last one, but not the other.

Best regards. :-)

I missed that post post, Peter. In those times (2011) I didn't still know this forum. You made a great paint job on it.

And yes, you are lucky having both the Assyrian and the Hittite King. I'm sure you've got also the Egyptian Pharaoh. I have two copies of him. :winky:

Damn! I got this set as a present, and it had no bonus figure!!

I was lucky though, with Caesar's Qing Dynasty set. I got a bonus figure, which isn't even pictured on PSR, and it was even painted! the only time I've got a painted figure in a brand new set :P .

It seems as if the mould broke, they ended up with not enough production, and decided to include what they had as bonus figurines. It's sad, as you could say they were the most important figures of Hittites and Assyrians!

Is it known if the first issues are more likely to have bonus figures, or maybe the latest?
