Any and all superlatives apply to Udo's work. I thought I would break ranks a bit to venture some observations. There is very little pure black on these figures. Udo is a master of grays and saves the black for a few select areas that are recessed. I also don't think he uses much if any metallic paints and has mastered using NMM non-metallic metals which is incidentally a great way to introduce reflected colors from surrounding areas which gives a more homogenous look to the whole. Lastly, I don't think he uses any pre-made fleshtones but mixes them all himself. I spent a good hour perusing this thread and all his amazing work here. If any of these speculations aren't true I would be very interested to know. I can see a good deal of improvement since the first figures so there is no telling what kind of mind-blowing work he may bless us with in the future. You are a rare talent indeed Udo.

Thanks for sharing this. I love the StuG! And I think this is the first time I have seen basing using a one quarter armoured vehicle. So interesting, clearly this is meant to focus on the painting of the figure - though equally clearly, the man can paint armour, too! Not fair...
