Had no idea that the Focke-Achgelis Fa 330 "Bachstelze" Tragschrauber/rotor kite is available in 1/72.
... another item on the much too long, but nevertheless constantly growing list...

This Bachstelze auto gyro was as always,an imaginative idea from the German Navy.

Personally, I would not want to be in one if the enemy turned up.

I remember it did not work too well in an episode of Das Boot if memory serves me.

Unlikely at my age!

@ Chris,
hence the certainly necessary training.
This foldable piece of equipment was intended for observation tasks exclusively.
Any WWI biplane or zeppelin could have shot it down easily.
The challenge for the U-Boot crews was to get the equipment ready for take-off and to recover it as quickly as possible.
In fact, the device is merely a significantly enlarged lookout.

Marginal objection, the "Bachstelze" is a non-powered rotor kite, not a motor driven autogyro.
Please excuse this silly know-it-all remark, I just couldn't help it.

Marvelous work on the U boat observation thingy. Your imaginative and perfectly executed works inspire me to improve my humble skills. The clear plastic blades with a shading of propeller convey the sense of motion.
