GumSmith Figures part 4 - StuG III G and Infanrty

Posted by GumSmith on 06 Dec 2020, 10:26

Hi everyone,
another old diorama, built years ago and now repaired and reworked. I added the 2 tankriders and the standing grenadier beside the StuG III G .
As you can see from GSF-labels the figures were designed after original pictures from battle of Arnhem again.

Impressive stuff indeed, although the mounted guys look as if they might be slipping a little.

Seriously, the Stug looks great, the commander fabulous and the standing troops really natural.

Super groundwork and a natural composition.

Marvellous.

Best wishes,

Chris

A really nice scene, with great figures that are really recognisable from the pictures of the fighting on the Arnhemse Bovenweg.

By the way, there are good illustrations of the StuG involved that show the Schürtzen front left are borrowed from another vehicle:

Hi huib,
you are right. I have a lot of books about "Market Garden" and battle for Arnhem. I built this StuG III and another similar one for another Diorama idea which i never realized. So as i had this StuG`s and the figs, i put it together. And i didn`t want to repaint one single skirt.
You can clearly see the different skirt on StuG of Major Kühne ( Commander of StuG-Brigade 280) on my "Label"-pic.
Here is the second StuG III, with some more resine bods of the figs i used on diorama

Marvelous display . Top notch work on the tank, figures, and scenery. The collapsible stock on the MP-40 amazes me.
