Yom Kippur 1973 Golan Heights

Posted by praga on 02 Feb 2021, 12:53

The Shot Kal Alef (upgraded israeli Centurion) is from ACE. The Dodge is from Esci - but a little refurbished by me. The figures on the side of the Dodge are from AlexMiniatures. The figures on the other side are from Under Fire Miniatures and one from Pegasus. The tank commander is from Ceasar - but with a different head.
Regards, Jens Hilgraf

Nice little scene.
I like the soldier on the phone.

Look like the ACE kit is very good.

Nice as all your Dio.

(And if you want to know what kind of fuel is in the barrels.
Please ask Peter.)

Very nice work indeed.

The personal weapons look a bit big but the faces and the tank are lovely.

A nice composition, good groundwork and the frontal picture of the tank is wonderful.

Best wishes,

Cjris

What is your technique for painting faces? The walking general has a face especially evocative.

I agree with others. Nice figures, many details, good weathering and groundwork.

I don't really have a special technique to paint the faces. I paint them with Dwarf Skin from Vallejo, then a wash with sephia wash also from Vallejo and finally a drybrush with (in this case) deck tan also from Vallejo.
The faces of the Alex Miniatures figures always look good because the figures are superbly modeled - and that's the secret. If they are well modeled, each figure can be painted very well,
I've written that many times - in my opinion, Alex's characters are the best on that scale.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments, I'm always happy about the reactions.

Another wonderful diorama from your "factory", praga. And, as always, it has amazing terrain and scenery, great vehicles and fantastically painted figures. :notworthy:  :notworthy:

Congratulations.

I would agree with all that everyone has said. And although the faces are indeed well sculpted and full of character (I love the portly guy by the Dodge) your colours and rush work bring them to life!
