Uf, if I usually feel very flattered by your kind comments every time I post pictures of a new work in the forum, this time I'm completely overwhelmed by your generosity.

First of all a big THANK YOU to you all. As I always say, it's a real pleasure to share every new job with people who valorate it so kindly. :-D

And now some specific answers to your comments. ;-)

huib wrote:...(But hey, psst, don't you all think Santi is in fact in love with her? )

Peter wrote:You could have a point here. And clever of him, because when he can be couple with her, he gets his figure back! Very smart! :-D ;-)

I can assure you that if you knew Mar, you couldn’t help falling in love with her either. She's not only a very attractive woman, but also sweet, sensitive, extremely polite and a great teacher. I’m truly honored that she considers me her friend.

Unfortunately not, Peter, I’m not free to partner with her.

sberry wrote:
...Does she know your previous work with miniature figures? - I hope she is able to appreciate the honor that it means to be the template of one of your masterpieces...

No, she did know nothing about it, sberry. And yes, she appreciated the gift as something very special.

MABO wrote:Wonderful work, Santi. I am sure it was a surprise!

It really was, MABO, she would never had expected anything like that from her co-worker.

Konrad wrote:...I am sure that she was happy about this very personal gift. It is sure to be something special to be your friend.

At least that was my impression, Konrad, and also my intention, that she felt special being my friend. :-)

Kostis Ornerakis wrote:Excellent work my friend! :-D

Egbert wrote:Dear Santi, it is your very own painting style that turns your characters into something extraordinary. The clarity and your lines are outstanding. As usual a successful overall composition of this little Vignette. :notworthy:  :notworthy:

Thank you very much, dear friends, you already know how much I appreciate your compliments. :-D

Wiking wrote:...The first section that you impress me is the combination of so many soft plastic figures...It is not only that you see in each figure what you need. You have to know what you own. You can get the best figure. If you do not remember it is worthless. So many different figures and timelines. From ancient till today. The second great section is the exact alignment of all parts at each contact zone. It look superb. Like out of the mould. All around and all the time. :yeah: For your Roman-waterloo-resitance-milita-DNA reality girl.

Thanks, Wiking. I must admit that I'm no so sucessfull with all soft plastics. Some of them are impossible to work. I love specially the plastic of Caesar Miniatures figures, it's very easy to work and you can make almost everything with it. This is the main reason I use them preferently for my conversions.

And yes, right at the beggining you must have a very concrete idea of what you want to get and the materials you have available for it.

Peter wrote:...Pity you don't have a picture of her when she recieved this beautifull and original piece of art! :notworthy: You're a good man Santi!

It would have been a good idea to take that picture, Peter, but with the face mask I wouldn’t have been able to appreciate well her expression when she received the gift.

I don't know if I'm a good man, but at least I try everyday. :-D

Pocho Azul wrote:Nice job, and completely unique concept!

Minuteman wrote:Quite remarkable, an excellent and very imaginative figure creation! Interesting also to read of how the components for the Mar sculpture came from other figures.

Dad's Army wrote:Santi, cool to see this conversion, well done! I like the idea and the result!

Thank you, mates. I also think that this is one of my more original conversions. ;-)

OwenChpw wrote:...I love the laptop in particular, very cute. The conversion is also seamless, I couldn't tell at first it was converted - which makes it a great conversion!

I'm very happy with the laptop too, Owen. It was very easy to get and looks great on the setting, giving it a special touch of modernity. ;-)

Iceman1964 wrote:Santi, I deeply admire your capability to perform such conversions, it's superb !!!

Thanks, Iceman1964. I have said it a few times before: I enjoy more with the conversion work than with the painting, although the second stage is inevitable to get the completed figure. :sweatdrop:

Bill Slavin wrote:This is a remarkable and generous testament to friendship. You do have to tell her, however, that you gave her the legs of a grenadier!

santifernandez wrote:I think it is a nice touch that honors friendship. Santi.

T. Dürrschmidt wrote:I totally agree with Santi. It´s a very unique and creative project to portrait a friend in this way. Very remarkable.

Michael Robert wrote:Wonderful present in your now famous style. Such a unique present is a token to a great friendship. I like it a lot. Michael

Thank you very much, mates. You know the saying: whoever has a friend has a treasure. That is why you have to take care of good friends. :winky:

My very best regards for you all. :love1:

Maybe the customized conversion Santi Pérez made of his own partner is so private that it cannot be shown on this family forum.

I haven't still made that conversion, Bluefalchion. But, if someday I made, you can be sure that it would be appropriate for all ages

I would like a friend like yours, Kekso. But, as I know that it's impossible, I will continue enjoying Mar frienship. :winky:
