Intriguing and interesting. I know relatively little about 3D printing other than that this is going to be the 'next big thing' in this hobby. How do these compare with a commercially-available set eg: Redbox Alliance ALL72018 Warg Half-orcs, in terms of scale, quality of casting/moulding and price per figure? On the latter, I think the Redbox figures will be working out at around GBP £0.70 per warg and rider for the Alliance set.

those figures are very well done. It must give you a very satisfied feeling to actually grab these files and load them into a printer and create your own miniatures that you print out and paint. Home casting taken to the next level. From the videos I have watched on YouTube this may become a separate hobby unto itself.
Unfortunately beyond my ability. Fun to watch.

Personaly, I think the quality of the 3d prints is better then the plastics like the ones from Dark Alliance. The detail is more crisp. I will make a comparison picture tommorow. The cost per miniature is a little difficult. Do you take in account the cost of the printer itself (about 300 euro's) or do you see it as a tool for the hobby, like say a airbrush set. The printmaterial, the resin you print in, is about 25 euro a kilo. You can print hundreds of miniatures in that small scale. Offcourse yoy have the learning curve of printing in resin, wich is quit steep. In the beginning I had some great successes, but als manny failures when the miniatures became more complicated. Then again, it is part of the hobby, just as learning to paint and model miniatures

I agree totally with your statements.

I believe these printed models of you are "shots" somehow taken from models un Warhammer Total War videogame, nice find!!

For instance I Bought also some 3d figures from Speira, I found they are autorized files from 3d Creator Artisan Guild, let me also show them to you all as comparison.
The printer allows you yo adapt the scale ar your choice...not always the details Will be the same, but scaling from 28mm to 1/72 comes easy..
The Speira product were crisp and match so good with 1,72 comercial plastics (and look even better st some point as Jack said)




However, By Next example which I tried to print on my own I Ran i bit out of scale...I trusted the total height but did not care of total actual proportions..these dwarves are Big headed and Round bodies!!.I Must repeat at smaller size...Size of head is the most important human reference point.

Carlos, nice prints! And yes. getting the scale right is a bit of a issue. I use a cad program where I have all my minis side by side to have a better way to decide the scaling. Another factor is the sculpting style of the modeller. Some sculpts are bulkier, like the dwarfs in your example. Thats why I try to use as much as possible models from the same sculpter in one army. A challenge....

I Guess keeping stuck to a single design or sculpter is a intelligent idea..But in the moment of truth I can not help It, I Want all of them! is the same by me as going yo a "all you can eat" buffet restaurante hahaha, i have no restrain..

I Will make new posts when I get the Desired look on the Bulky barrel dwarves...I believe I ll achieve It.. Please Jack let us see more of yours!
Definetely this is the future of the Hobby, making figures at home with High degree in flexibility un size, details or poses, while tradición sculpt+moulding processes should evolitionate somehow also

Thank you for the view on quality and price. I can see that, as technology continues to improve, and more people become expert at 3D printing/designing of figures, this option will become more and more attractive...and also relatively less expensive per figure.

Maybe by setting the printer to match your own painting speed you could have a 'just in time' production line: a figure leaves the printer just at the same time as a completed painted figure leaves the painting table to join the ever-growing armies!

Minuteman, unfortanetly the printer is much faster then my painting... instead of a plastic and lead pile I am now creating a ed prints pile.

what about some squighoppers. Love these little critters. Much crazier then those traditional wolven riders, offcourse printed and painted by me
