Mariupol Donbass 2014

The two BDM-2 are from S-Model. Very nice models.
The mounted infantry on the front BDM are from AlexMiniatures as well as almost all civilians and the man with the grenade launcher ammunition and the tank commander from the rear BDM. The tank commander from the front BDM, the soldier who wants to mount the rear and the kneeling soldier with the MG are from Esci. The standing civilian in the blue shirt and the photographer in the golf are from FC Model Trend. The other soldiers are from Orion.
Some figures have been rebuilt and adapted.
The house is scratch-built.
The bus is a diecast model from a Polish manufacturer. But I repainted the car so that it looks destroyed. I also sawed open the front door.
The VW Golf Cabrio is a diecast model from Cararama / Hongwell but also painted as used by me.

Regards, Jens Hilgraf

Very different and very nice.

It’s a pity that there are no gaps in the pictures but they tell the story well.

Some of the pictures are very impressive indeed with a second look being required for the ‘ is it real’ question. The quest of modellers.

Excellent.

Best wishes,

Chris

Wonderful diorama of a very sad subject, and a conflict that still continues to this day.

Did you find some real life photos of the chaotic early days of the fighting to inspire this creation?

That is a really well done diorama, full of action and drama. Your work on the diecast models is especially impressive, and I love the graffiti on the bus shelter.
I especially like the interaction between civilians and the military. Being set in a modern venue, it also brings home the tragedy of violence and war. I, too, would like to know a bit moe about the backstory.
