Here is the view from the bottom of the pyramid.

I'm happy to have done it but also to have finished it. Almost three years to do it...

Horrific but nicely done.

Straight out of Apocolypto, a brilliant film.

Best wishes,

Chris

Pretty grim subject matter.

But it is well done.

Nicely done! Such a huge amount of work. As for the gruesomeness of the subject matter, from the little I know about the Aztecs this is very restrained...

Very unusual and impressive. Never seen that before in a diorama....just in Mel Gibson´s "Eucalypto" sorry "Apocalypto"..... ;-)

You have achieved a real masterpiece with this diorama, stephane42, with both fantastically painted figures and impressive buildings.

I love specially the last picture, in which you can admire the grandiosity of the rain God piramid.

My very best congratulations.

Santi.

Haha, I know the relief when you finally finish a project. You're glad to have finished but at the same time, so tired of working on the same thing. That's how I get when painting, oh painting skin again! For the eighth day in a row!

I remember seeing this at its inception, the final work is fantastic, looks hard to store on a shelf though lol.

Salut Stéphane42

what a mind-blowing dio. Wonderful, the pyramid, the steep stairs, the "offering" and the colourful painting of the minis.
When I see such a big piece I wonder how to make it more homogeneous. I mean it would have been wonderful to have the crowd at the bottom, the "feet of the pyramid", worship or at least stare at the scene on the top. In general, such scenes are very difficult to achieve because of lack of appropriate figures - for any epoch, to say the least about the Aztecs.
Again, wonderful modelling.

Salutations de la Normandie ensoleillée
Michael
