Now with the new Orion figures for the period I am starting it up again with Ruff Puffs or the Regional and Popular Forces of the Republic of Vietnam

I kept the colours quite simple using an olive green for most of the uniform, but adding some variety in the trousers to indicate they are irregulars.

Are you going to purchase some of the even newer NVA and Vietcong sets? I like your Ruffpuffs.

For the last of my January output, some local opposition for the Ruff Puffs the Orion Local Communist Forces, providing a selection of VC and also figures to act as a supply chain on the Ho Chi Min Trail.

I used a mix of black through to dark grey to reflect the local "pyjamas" and like the Ruff Puffs varied the trousers to give a more irregular feel to the unit The snipers will come in useful as well.

Now onto the ARVN

I have now added plenty of Victor Charlie with the benefit of the new Orion Viet Cong figures.

These are a mixture of the new figures and reworked old Esci figures in various shades of black.

I am pleased that my old jungle scenery doesn't immediately need reworking to match in

For my new NVA figures from Orion I wanted the uniform to look distinctively different from the US and ARVN, so I tried a suggestion on the Lead Adventure forum to use Vallejo Games Colour Camouflage Green. I'm quite impressed and I now need to consider whether to repaint the uniforms on my older NVA or strip the paint and start again or even sell them and start again with some new figures.

Hi Will.

The figures all look fabulous. This is one of those situations where I really can't get into another period so it's good to see someone else covering it; and you are doing a splendid job on this.

A high point for me here is your jungle scenery, I do like to see a jungle modeled that's not just all palm trees. I visit the nearby sub tropical rainforest sometimes and it's not wall to wall palms.

Your terrain pieces look great, lush, dense, and authentic. Have you used aquarium plants or something else?

Yes they were bulk load that were going cheap at a show. They were large blocks of the same vegetation, but I just chopped them up based the pieces and mixed up the plants
