The figures are from Germania-Figuren, Nikolai und Fredericus Rex.
The building is from Diodump.

Another highlight. Never seen a subject like this before. Very unusual and superbly done! Great work!

You managed to catch the poor life conditions of those people (which hasn´t changed too much during the last 100 years in many cases).

Excellent work on the scenery here and especially the building, I really like the tarpaulin on the roof.

I zoomed the screen to get a decent look at the figures and I have to say that the quality of painting is very high.

Apologies if you deem this comment to be unnecessary.

Very nice and unusual composition.

I read your comment regarding longevity but unfortunately forums and blogs seem to operate on a chronological basis.

My Ligny and Quatre Bras re fights took years to build before posting.

They are still available and a Google search will bring you to Bennoes which in my opinion is where, in the absence of my long desire to have my own site, they are happiest!

Antietam will no doubt go the same way, but that’s life.

Best wishes,

Chris

It´s a nice and very pittoresque diorama which tells us a little story behind the frontlines. I like it, especially its spatial configuration and adorable figures.
Only the house doesn´t look like Palestine where rain sometimes happens - not very often, but during the winter indeed. It looks with its roof, openings and wooden beams more for me like a New Mexico or Pueblo indian houses than a Palestine house. Yes, the beduins or shepherds have quite simple huts, but than not with such wide openings and a kind of stable besides the house. Many in the west have often mostly the contemporary evening news from Afghanistan, Libya or western iraq in mind and are thinking this has to be the whole middle east.
... and a fireplace in front of the house is missing. Sorry, there are so many fotos from old Palestine between 1900-30 ....

Great diorama, Michel: a very well balanced scene, with fantastically painted figures and wonderful scenery. I like it a lot. :love: :love: :love:

My best congratulations. :thumbup:

@sansovino
Thank you for your advice about the house. I can get over this discrepancy because I was concerned with the overall impression!
@Santi
Thanks a lot!

At the Diodump site they call it an Afghan house: https://www.diodump.com/diorama-buildings-172

Whatever, I like it! :thumbup:
