Hi all,
It’s been a while for me to post something, or even visit this site. My apologies. It’s been a hectic few years for a lot of us, including me. Hope everyone is doing well!
I took up painting my 1/72 scale models again, but not as impulsive as I used to. This time, I came with a plan
. Instead of painting a full box and having no clue what to do with it, I changed to paint and create mini scenes. I used italeri models, but modified all of them and tried to do some nmm.
This one I just finished. Hope you enjoy!
‘Taking the height at Kolotskoi’
This little scene (1/72 scale) is based on an event that happend on the 5th of September 1812 near Borodino. Two squadrons of the 11th hussars were ordered to secure a height near Kolotskoi monastery, which was held by Russian tirailleurs. After taking the height, the squadrons didn’t stop and, driven by their succes, moved forward. This was a mistake, because they met a large Russian army hidden by a ravine. Under terrible artillery fire and an overwhelming cavalry charge of the Russian dragoons the 11th hussars took many casualties. Nevertheless, with help from the brigade of Girardin the enemy was routed.
