French Aides de Camp

Posted by Bill Slavin on 29 Aug 2021, 22:06

Here are a couple of French Aides de camp I pulled together for my French forces. They began life as French horse grenadiers and the mounting/dismounting figure is probably the most ambitious conversion I've tackled to date. As always, my sculpting is a bit rough when seen in the close ups, but they work okay, I thought, from a distance. And I like their dynamic feel.
As always, there is more information on my blog about French ADC's, their uniforms and lots more WIP pictures as well as more of the finished duo, if you are curious...

Hi Bill.

Very nice indeed.

Just a thought but horses it seems are normally mounted from the left.

Nonetheless, an excellent bit of chopping and changing as usual.

Best wishes,

Chris

For me it is a mounting figure if I look at the action! Great work Bill!

Thanks, all!

Chris, as always, this forum is a wealth of information! I confess, I have only been on a horse about three times in my life, and been thrown (dumped, really) once.

I think you are right, Peter, he is jumping onto the horse!

Another wonderful addition to your Peninsular War armies, Bill, in this case to the French one. The conversions of the Hät Horse Guard Grenadiers are really astonishing. :notworthy:  :notworthy:

My very best compliments.

Santi.

A wonderful work full of action and life. I can smell the sweat and the hectic of the moment. And I appreciate your your choice of high grass as environment.
