A very fine array of the great Revell Swedish TYW Swedish Infantry painted here as Spanish. The standard of painting is very high; well done!

A couple of observations, which I hope will be constructive. The Revell TYW Infantry sets are amongst the best sets that Revell produced, and it is a great shame that they have chosen not to re-release these. The Imperialist infantry set, with figures in morion helmets, is especially difficult to find. However, for Spanish infantry of this period, men in helmets looks good and is probably historically accurate. One of the great things of the two Revell sets was that the poses and scale of the figures made them very inter-changeable, and had it been possible for you to mix in some of the Imperialist set then this would have created variety. Variety of pose and dress, for this period (when uniforms were still only just becoming a norm for only a relatively few units) makes a TYW unit look 'right' in my view.

The other 'problem' with both Revell sets was that they did not provide enough pikemen. I sense that this is reflected in the disposition of your figures. You have a suitably deep formation of musketeers, but only two ranks of pike. Spanish Tercio throughout the period remained deep formations, and a couple more ranks of pikemen - had the Swedish set provided these - would look good.

All very inspiring though.

Really an impressive regiment of wonderful painted TYW-troops. Will you add still some washing of the soldiers?

Agree with all your comments Minuteman, just be patient, I have some figures that should answer all your observations, (just need to find them first).

Ah yes, words that I am familiar with, especially finding the figures. Sets and whole regiments that go 'AWOL' in the stash is something I know well!

No rush at all, patience is a virtue. Keep up the good work, but at a pace that suits. This is a hobby after all!

Well, everything is already said before and I agree: impressive army of well painted figures.
I just saw your other recently posted armies too. It must have taken ages to paint them.
Respect!

This is what I wanted when I got in to Napoleonics; massed infantry. These look great, all very nicely painted.

Very nice indeed.

I love large units in ‘ The Grand Manner’.

Best wishes ,
