Posted by Peter on 05 Jan 2022, 16:53

My first figures of this year. Some ACW artillery and command figures. Nice set with that much details so they painted up easely.

Nice painting Peter.

The Revel lanyard chap would have been a better choice of gunner as Italieri have produced a linstock chap which is useless on a percussion fired cannon.

The rest would look lovely on my battlefield .

Best wishes,

Chris

Nicely painted, Peter. I like this set (didn't recognize the problem with the gunner, thank you Chris). Most of all I like command figures with coats.

Nice colored in blue these figures.
Hopefully the one with the open fire at the end of the stick in your house can handle it.

Nice paint job, Peter.

I like the faces, the shading and the subtle highlighting.

For the groundwork I use the Geek Gaming Scenics' "Base ready" mixtures which easily camouflages the bases of the figures. I like the grass parts on your bases too. Did you use a static grass applicator for it? that's something I haven't tried myself yet.

Thank you guys!

Answering your questions:

@tullo: it would be better if I could cut away the bases but in this way it is stronger. Next time I will dilute what I use as groundwork a bit more so it can flow better around teh bases of the figures.

@Erik: I gave him only one match! One is enough to .......... OMG I think I hear a firetruck coming this way!

@Patrick: what I use for the groundwork is woodfiller and birdsand. The grass is from Games Workshop and is added by hand over some white glue, tipped of the excess grass and then I blow over it. Works well and I need no tools. ;-)
