Swedish Dragoons of Charles XII

Posted by Kekso on 31 Jan 2022, 11:19

While I was painting figure for January dulel I decided to also finish all that was left in the box of this well known Zvezda set. And I needed to wait for Jaunary duel to finish so I could post pictures of my finished work. BTW, this was my first "serious" 1/72 project after long, long time.

The pictures seem a bit too dark now... maybe I'll post some lighter ones (but later).

Very nice work! Have the set, but only painted one or two (had trouble deciding what regiment/colourof thecoat) . And the pics being dark means they just look like they are at home! It's pretty dark here! :-D

Just... Waow! One of the best cavalry unit I have ever seen at this scale, and maybe more !
A small detail: the yellow color looks better on this picture that the one you used for the duel => a dark background is great here.
You're definitely a 1/72 master... don't waste too much time on other scales

Fantastic cavalry here my friend.

Oddly enough, you might have got away with posting these pics during your Mr. X duel. The dragoon in question looks so very different in the warmer light, with a full terrain base, and surrounded by his fellows who are calling more attention to themselves with dramatic poses.

I love the horses, too. I agree with PhilC, 1:72 is a very good match with your skills.

Lovely figures given a lovely paint job: they shine.

Indeed, they're almost luminescent.

Thank you guys. I really appreciate it... but let's not exaggerate... I'm not that good... and I'm very lazy :D

@Bluefalchion. Maybe you're right. In January duel my figure sits on different horse than here.
Still, I didn't wanted that someone sees it as odd coincidence (January duel and me posting my work).

Hello Kekso,
maybe you're lazy, but these are admirably well painted. Even the flowers - "what flowers - being trampled down by some brutish soldiers!" - add to the colourful scene. That's also an achievement :-)

I like these a lot - more than your heroic fantasy figures in that other scale :-) :-)
See you
Michael

Sublime! I'm envious of such a group as these. I like how you've been quite bold with the colours but kept it all so natural at the same time.

And those horses... wow.

Gorgeous work Kekso. It doesn't get much better than these. I am particularly taken with your horses, they have so much richness in color and tones. Not that your cavaliers aren't also superb! Cheers, Bessiere

That's the spirit Dali! Painting one figure for the duel and then paint also the rest of the figures you have of the same set! :-D

And they look fantastic! Your eye for details is outstanding! Look at that flag! Love it!
