Will's Jacobite Cavalry

Posted by Fire at Will on 01 Feb 2022, 15:23

January seems to be the month for low output and I'm no exception, I lost my painting Mojo sometime after New Year and its only just begun to recover, I don't think all the tartan helped

But at least I have now painted the new Redbox Jacobite cavalry, plus Bonnie Prince Charlie and Lord Pitsligo. The whole contingent-

In wargaming terms compared to the size of my army most of the units are oversized, but for what-if and skirmish games more might be needed

I have already painted FitzJames cavalry and the Lifeguard using the old Revell figures so I now have to becide what to do with them?

Yes, I opened a new tin of tartan paint and found lots of separate single colour pots inside, not buying that again ;-)

A fine-looking bunch of mounted men for the '45. Well done!

This tartan paint is a difficult one. Get the wrong one and you'll have the Clan McDonald after you. Get another one and it will not be quite right for the Clan MacDougals.

I am married to a 'gal from the Clan McCallum, so I should know!!

Very nice Will! Those new figures look good. I wish I had the time and determination to have a '45 project on the go. I visited Culloden last year and it left me feeling very inspired by the period. Have you previously posted any Jacobite armies on here?
