I agree, another terrific unit, lovingly painted. Those big flags look great!

A fine body of infantry. A dark-ish shade of red with armour and buff coats is a pleasing combination! It works well on all sorts of units for this period, and the Swedish Red Regiment is but one...Imperialist infantry units of the TYW and, for example, the Kings Lifeguard of Foote in the ECW are others.

I am only stating a personal view here, but I would say that even a relatively well-uniformed Swedish 'elite' Regiment of this period would not look quite as well clothed and equipped as this Red Regiment. The universal morion headgear, especially for the musketeers, is probably more than Gustavus Adolphus could afford to buy for his troops. Armour for musketeers in most units was becoming rarer by the 1630s/40s.

But this is only a personal view: All in all, another fine (and huge) body of infantry, well painted and presented.
