i've not done any construction work so far this year, but quite a few books have come into play and lay almost finished. They will need cutting off the paper sprue, later when i can catch enough time out of my very busy days as they unfold.

The new double sided six story high library archway which will house over 600 bye-gone books, sometimes share nostalgia must come into my play.









i began this week another extension to my scratch-building programme and this time it went upon the streams of time, up rather than down.



Laid comfy like with it being upright square on its back it was time to apply a little bit of compression by way of a heavy book placed on top that kept it flat while all the glue went off. This indeed shows how incredibly strong it is even at this early stage of my gameplay.


With the world failing us as it does so readily, i hope U R all well. BB

The Time Traveller
Sci-fi Fantasy
written by Paul Howes

London March 16th 1899

Sir Percy Nots E G Nivil, an intrepid mad hat explorer of strange new worlds, was pleased as punch to set into wide open space ,the scale of his scratch-built library.
Over the fog of many years he had so missed it, but quite frankly due to this aged P,he had forgotten what it had even looked like. In spite of adding to it over such a span of collective years, it went missing as if melted away like winters snow. Yes even upon writing of it ,it seemed vanished into fresh air. Or through that deep glowing zig zag crack in the wall, or even through that dirty gap between two polished floorboards where a certain time clock key lay?

Of course Percy even thought it went walk about in one of those long hot summers while he was absent poking about in adventure explorer style looking for extra strange new worlds.
These foolhardy madcap or completely sane adventures that led him to find himself meeting the ones who had gone before him, only to have forgotten them along with himself. This after meeting two old friends that he had no recollection of, as they spoke of it, he too along with them realised it was indeed him who had gone missing and not his fine filled library at all.

However this was not entirely the case, for Fred, mentioned to MayBell," He does not know that he is actually lost in the library as we two are."

Now back to the scratch build as it rolls along in this journal.



As this odd place for dust away books expands a little as each day unfolds ,
i will have need of this a little later,it being an eccentric idea to twist around.
Hopefully it will help elevate eyes, and little feet to other floors.



Laid down flat single frame work and Double sided frame-work.







Hopefully there should be four double sided look through sights to ponder a gander at. For Gandering a silent look through is such a fine edged princely thing to try and do. Many have failed in their endeavours to do so simply because of lack of faith in themselves. i often ask others where has that little boy or girl you once were, gone?

It is an impressive project

The walls of books reminds me of a short story I read called The Library of Babel. The library contains an infinite number of books. Some people spend their whole life searching for the book that contains their own future.

MAKING BOOKS, THE BB WAY

Having only the front cover to each cowboy annual.
This is how i formulated each of my Buffalo Bill books.
This meant finding out how to slice a section out ,
and then place it between two book covers.





Reducing this pattern down.



i formulated this pattern upon 'Edge', and everyone came out clear cut sharp in every detail on my tiny books, after using a jolly good printer.



It certainly pays to have lots of classic pictures of books that will fold up nicely using the self same process.



Where there is a will there is always a way and the price of freedom to achieve whatever it is, is by the way of it never cheap in a time consuming way.




HOMER's , ILIAD has a much favoured looking back for printing out which should look good with relative ease of mass resting between two good reliable book ends. What they might end up being is for a future time. After all The Ancient Greeks, surrounded Troy, then burnt and pulverized it into dust.Which is still well known and quite familiar in our own so called civilized modern day.





And so it was that i reached the point where the next little job to do is forming all the archers between 8 shelving units that after painting and varnishing will house a little over 2,240 tiny books.

This place is sure filling up.










Sir Percy,and Miss Steller Nibwell Inkhorn, Underneath the Arches, which is also a great sing along song that was sung in war torn London, Norwich and elsewhere, especially down in the underground railway where the public sang along to such an enduring tune. As others do sing now their country anthem.

Many thanks Peter always good to see the good ideas option available my friend. In spite of being on Zoom twice daily to help others in my Catton area of Norwich ,which eats into my day, i have already started the next scratch building phase of the Library. Although the unorthodox grande scheme of the Library is still to finish that work in progress. Well over a years work lay in piles of colourful things, including that which i started below.



This being my first blue print of the plan. This will be a learning curve for me as i am wondering upon a riddle style pathway of scratch building whatever it might turn out 2 B. Nothing appears to be,as it is first seen.

Questions and Curiosity are very welcome, :
as some can inspire others,
along with little isolated aged P, me!

As i am making multiple modular toy parts, the library can ,and will formulate many formations on my table top. These independent units will provide plenty of scope for photo, and film shoots

Other props for play are in the planning stages ,and some already in cutting out and gluing stages.
i must get some painting completed too.

This part is upon the long side,
because i added stuff to it each day,
so it took me many days to add up these very odd looking sums. I sure do hate sums.
i'm just glad there is only one of you wingnut. That's cool. Eh ?


Yes i said i would return to this drawing a riddle so to speak where eventually as pieces come together the objects will reveal what it is,or even what they are. For now just follow along with this pathway of hidden title to sums that might well add themselves up to reveal,

i am making it fitting for Percy's height of 4 CM



Miss Stella, comes from the 'Asterix Figures' ,
so she too like Fred and MayBell is most certainly from the Stars!



It certainly has revealed a rather large hole.



and a round about to travel up and down upon.



And so it was after cutting out the inner ring,
i added the pipe which fitted nicely tight into its rather high rising place.

Looks like The Magic Roundabout ta me pards. said the Cowboy that always sleeps in his boots.



The round about ring edges were marked out where every ink line will begin, and even end.
So from a Square i was able ,'well as able as anyone else could choose to do',
to find the centre and then the inner and outer rings.



















Held up to the light in the garden revealed the shape of the architrave.





My Tea arrived fresh hot from its pot.



i'll take any helper that i can get,and he seems quite friendly as do his friends who have forgotten all the bad press they have received over the years since the early 1960's. let bygones be bygones in a humble sort of way of play i say.



This is plan A,which will take on a recognisable shape real soon...
Plan B,is also on my Radar screen of hopeful dreams!
If only time will allow it to be.

Brackets will support each and every one.





A Thumb comes in right handy at times. That's a left thumb! But it is right handy. !



Some will wind themselves to the left while this first sample turns to the right.



There is still lots to do,but i believe U might realise what it will be? Not me!
i wonder if it will turn out well?

Hmm, that round disk could very well have been a flying saucer, maybe not. And that stack of stairs looked a little too dangerous to stand close to! You really are making a very nice little universe of your own here! Just waiting for more while I clean away all the drool I've drooled.
