Ace SdKfz 6 pioneer is finished

Posted by JueHue on 13 Apr 2022, 19:36

Hello
Yes, I am still alive.
I have been reading diligently in the forum but as you know my English is a bit poor and I have not always commented.
Now I would like to present my last project, the SdKfz 6 from Ace. A nice kit, I built it almost OOB only some small parts I added.
There are searchlights, the dipsticks on the fenders and the canopy. Otherwise everything is OBB. The kit is not to be compared with the older ones from ACE. It is much more finely executed, but with small obstacles. The frame consists of many parts , about 18.
Because the boxes for the torsion suspension all have to be glued in place it is very fiddly and unstable.
Many parts have a fine burr that must be removed. But otherwise it is very nicely done.In other units the Halftrack was used to pull the pontoon trailer of the bridge building columns. At the 21.PD in Africa the Pionerhalftrack was given to the artillery division for lack of rivers.
Have fun looking at the pictures

Nicely done! That halftrack looks great - it has clearly been through a lot. Great distress work.

Instead dusty, damaged old scrap, things again!

Here are realy a lot of looong COVID 72 infected guys.

Hm, Um but ...
Grey base color is seen everywhere! :yeah: Scratched off color where the shoes touch the metal :yeah: Rubbed off leather on the siting areas. :yeah: Dusty dirty window with free areaeas where the whisher work :yeah:

Really nice one. I like the open motor hatch and the tiny details on it. Even the window is full of dust, but the area of the windscreen wipers. Another masterpiece of yours ;-)

Superb work. I like the painting and weathering. Are you adding any figures?

Nice work, Jürgen! I really like your dirty damaged Sd.Kfz.6. A great source of inspiration for the DAK Sd.Kfz.7 I am working on at the moment.
