Patrolling the highlands 1746

Posted by Iceman1964 on 26 Dec 2022, 09:41

Major Tom Bowie and his dragoons (10th Cobham) are searching the last Jacobite rebels in 1746, after Culloden. With his squadron he’s approaching the house of the McIntire clan, will they be calm or a mass of crying highlander with shields and swords will suddently appear ? The locals seem busy in repairing the damages after a previous clash time ago, but better be ready for all cases.

Keyron McIntire is the chief of the clan, he’s a fierce defender of the Scotland traditions, he hates the british invaders but he realize that they are too strong, at least for now.

His brother Charles instead is more sensible to the fashion coming from the continent, he spent time in France when young, and he things it’s better to learn living under the british rule.

Laura is my daughter, she lives in Scotland since 2019 .

Metal figures are from Massimo Costa (42nd black watch miniatures), I spent about 170 hours for this diorama, and I hope you will enjoy it !

Happy New Year !!

Enrico

Very nice indeed with super painting poses and composition.

You can almost sense the misery.

Classy work indeed.

Best wishes,

Chris

A very nice diorama indeed. I particularly like the civilian figures, and all (including the Dragoons) are painted to a high standard. Fine work!

Iceman1964, once we saw the different elements separately, we could imagine what the result would be: a superb masterpiece, with great attention to detail and a lot of elements, which form a very well balanced whole.

My very best congratulations.

Very good result, Enrico. I like the painting and the setting of the scene. The figures seem to react to one another.
