23rd Dragoons and all the King's Horse

I finally finished the last British cavalry unit I need for the Talavera campaign, the 23rd Light Dragoons. If you would like to see a few more photos and read a bit about their short and disastrous history in the Peninsula I have more here on my blog.

But more importantly what is the point in painting up so many cavalry regiments if I can't have them all in one shot?? So I have also included some group shots of my six regiments of British horse (well five and a regiment of KGL Hussars!)

Super army, Bill. The massive force of cavalry is really impressive as the others already remarked. And I must say, that I think the HäT figs are not bad at all when painted!

Thanks all. Yes, Jan, I have made my peace with the HaT figures. I think what I missed most with them was the almost complete lack of detail in the faces - I can live with the rest of their failings and even like some of the poses. At a distance they look quite good on the battlefield, I think.

Maybe head swaps if you work with that set again? Or maybe even face swaps?

The trouble with head swaps is that both the bicorne worn front to back and even more so, the Tarleton, aren’t all that common on other figures. But yes, that would be a reasonable solution too. Face swaps I find a bit more problematic!
