My entry for the painting competition.
Thank you to everyone who voted for me.

But so many members in the forum and so few votes? :(
Where is the problem?
It doesn't hurt at all. :-D

Beautifully painted Hoplites Konrad… like yourself I was astonished at how few members take the time to vote. The 12 votes for our third-place playoff left me speechless, especially when one sees how many views there were (124). Either those viewers were non members or members are only interested in winners. Ah, there is a third option…….. members genuinely felt we deserved to draw and as such felt it best not to cast votes and leave one of us disappointed. I prefer to believe in the last idea!

But let this not detract from your beautiful figures. Obviously two photos didn’t do them full justice. Here we can clearly see they are even more beautiful than they looked in the competition.
Ps/ (My only doubt regarding them in a painting competition was whether their shields - and their hoplons - were hand-painted or not….)!

Beautiful work! I confess, i didn't vote. I generally limit my time on the forum to viewing the gallery (so much to follow!) so I'm not even aware of the painting competitions when they come. I will try to be more vigilant - this work deserves more views.

Thank you for joining this competition with these excellent painted figures! And just like Keith, congrats with the "Bronze Brush"!

About the votes, this last round was only one week and that could be one of the reasons. Also a lot of old members are missing, as for example "Erik - Wiking". :eh:

Wow, Konrad, you made a superb paintjob on those nice Linear Athens' Hoplites.

You have won a very well-deserved bronze brush (I voted for you in some round). My very best congratulations, my friend!

I also like your paintjob as always. Very good job on these Greeks. I would have done without the fabric or leather flaps on the shields. They look very "glued on". If I may say so. But of course it's just my humble opinion.
