"Fata Morgana"

Posted by Peter on 04 Jul 2008, 17:07

Hey y'll. I've been of this world this week (and still untill tomorrow evening). I'm helping for television program called "fata morgana". This program challenges a town to sucseed in five missions, and so I'm helping on one of this missions. We got to make 500 Pinatas in one week, and there is no budget, so everything got to be sponsored.
This evening and tomorrow morning we still have a lot of work to do.
Tomorrow afternoon is the final. I'll put some pictures on the forum when I got them.
PS: for the interested the program is on sundayevening on Vrt één (I think in the Netherlands they receive this channel).

Haha!

It's very cool you're participating with the Fata Morgana show. I've seen it a few times on Belgian television. What are the other four goals by the way?

As always it's nice to see faces of forum members. :-)

For Benno:
1. 500 pinatas
2. 100 mariachi's playing Guantanamera
3. the suntemple of Teotihuacan
4. making a replica "historia de Mexico" a painting of Diego Rivera (270 m²)
5. 500 Mexicans sleeping in a "hangmat" (don't know the right English word)

For Martin
Next time I keep my eyes open, but there was sweat flowing in them.
So not daydreaming!

For efb:
we had them but didn't use the blind-fold because it was to risky with all those children, and yes it was great fun.

Now I'm broke, and waiting to see the result what they made of it this evening on television (one week in 1 hour).

By the way for every mission completed they give us a star.

My Mexican wife feels like she has missed out. Especially as her nickname is "Morgana".

It looks like it was fun.

The final result was that we won the five stars!
At last we hung up 731 piñatas, filled with candy and other things.
The painting was 300 m², 538 sleeping Mexicans, 170 Mariachi's, and even the temple was a little bit bigger as was asked for!
For who is interested type "fata morgana" + "neerpelt" on google and you find lots of pictures of the event.
I'm glad this adventure is over, so I can sleep a little bit more, and have some fine discussions on this forum (I've got a lot to catch up!).
