KEN TAYLOR, et al.

Where y'all at????

You think you can just casually drop in to see what Beeno's up to, view my exquisitely painted figures, exercise your mind by deciphering the esoteric spellings o fadamparsons, and laugh at the clownery of Peter...without contributing???

Freeloaders! Especially you smokin. Where you been?

Show us some love.

Can only agree. Doesn't have to be new stuff. I've dug up some old stuff recently, just going to take photos (sometime). Don't get to high hopes though, I paint as I usually does :-D .

I had some contact with Bert van Hal and he's busy with some Warhammer stuff with his son, so I don't think he'll be back soon.

What clownery? Me? I wouldn't dare

But you're right in what you write. I see a memberlist of 146 members, but how many keep this forum alive (look at the votings for the painting competition then you know)? Today three new members, but no "Hey I'm ... and live in ... And my favorite period is ....."

A big  for all active members!

I ask also to all members to put at least their country in their profile (this could help in PM for the language to use!) I know everybody is free to do that, that's why I ask it friendly! :spank: :whip:  :joker:

Hi guys,

I totally agree with you all.
A few of us are keeping this forum up.
And the rest is still watching.
I heard from Benno that he counts a lot of visits per day.
So that is not wrong. The potential is there.
Perhaps we have to post more stuff or more sparkling items.
I don't have a good answer on that.
Do you??

Efb, so you're from.. DIXIE ??

Not ever after the 9th of April in 1865.
:nono:

Anyways.. I CAN sing along:

"July, the 21st it was, the year of '61.
We met them at Manassas,
but they called it all Bull Run.

Old Patterson had orders -
our armies should not meet.
But Johnston slipped around him,
ensuring his defeat.."

Who can continue ?

Damn, off topic again. Sorry, Benno. ;)

We'll let it slide...this time ;-) .

All I'll grant is this...you won't find the CSA on any contemporary maps.

Guilty as charged! While I haven't contributed recently I still keep a very keen eye on the forums. Loving the painting competitions and have voted in same.

Waiting for "my period" as a theme and will hopefully enter something. Have to admit to being seduced by the dark side recently. Buying paints and brushes from Games Workshop had to rub off eventually. Got sucked in to buying some of their wonderful models and been painting those. Does make a change to paint something that's bigger than my thumbnail!

Keep at it and be sure I'll be watching at least

Thanks for the warm welcome, found this site whilst I should have been sorting out the Chinese puzzle that is my painting/working storage area. It was so good to see that others are managing well with just the same sort of available space.
Been playing with Toy soldiers for many years since I discovered Wargaming was too serious, started that with DFs book way back in the early 60s, before that I played with soldiers.
Bit of a butterfly, interested in most periods prior to 1940, and have amassed quite a large collection, virtually all 20mm/1/72 plastics. Now filling in gaps by producing my own figures, mainly to suit The " Boys Own " games that I seem to be playing most at the moment.
Well thats me in a nutshell, What about the rest of you shirkers and Lurkers.

Lets not forget that Dixie's greatest brigade came from Texas. A nation that allied itself with the fledgling Confederacy. A tune about their leader...

Yellow-haired Hood with his wounds and his empty sleeve,
Leading his Texans, a Viking shape of a man,
With the thrust and lack of craft of a berserk sword,
All lion, none of the fox.
When he supersedes
Joe Johnston, he is lost, and his army with him,
But he could lead forlorn hopes with the ghost of Ney.
His bigboned Texans follow him into the mist.
Who follows them?
-Stephen Benet the Army of Northern Virginia

And of course while we appreciated the help, what we really admire is the humble approach that y'all have always taken in regards to your own excellence.
